The FIN Board of Directors are a group of professionals who dedicate their time to steer FIN toward a sustainable future. They help determine, implement and monitor the strategic plan. They also ensure that we have adequate resources to attain it. In the past few weeks, we’ve had some movement on our board. Check out everyone’s new role below:
Mary Rinehart, Chairman
Mary Rinehart is progressing from the role of Vice-Chairman to Chairman of the Board of Directors. Her role is to oversee the strategic and operational objectives of the organization. Mary is the President/CEO of 1st Maker Space, LLC. She competed on FRC 71 Team Hammond in high school and mentored FRC 1018 for 5 years when she was a teacher. Her son, Liam, has a hat signed by Dean Kamen. He loves robotics and cannot wait to compete in FLL!
Logan Byers, Vice Chairman
Logan Byers will be moving from Chair of the Mentor Training Committee to the role of Vice Chairman of the Board. The Vice Chairman helps keep the BOD engaged, organized, and working towards the strategic priorities as an organization. Logan is a Senior Controls and Systems Engineer at PTS Diagnostics. In high school, he participated in FRC for Westside Boiler Invasion and in college he was a part of Purdue FIRST Programs / Harrison Boiler Robotics. He also serves as a referee and head referee for both FRCÂ and FTC events throughout Indiana.
Terri Talbert-Hatch, Development Committee Chair
Terri Talbert-Hatch is transitioning from the Secretary role to Chair of the new Development Committee. She retired as the Associate Dean for Recruitment, Retention, and Student Services for the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI in 2019.
Brett Breedlove, Treasurer
Brett Breedlove will continue to fill the role of Treasurer. He is a Certified Public Accountant and manager at Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Audit and Assurance Services Department.
Amy Liimatta, Secretary
Amy Liimatta has come on board as our new Secretary. She is a Senior Engineering Manager at Bill Austin Associates (BAA), an engineering consulting firm located in Columbus, Indiana.
Chelsea Bowen
Chelsea Bowen is transitioning off of the FIN Board of Directors after 7 years of service. She will be greatly missed, but we look forward to engaging her as an advisor! Thank you for all of your hard work, Chelsea.
We are currently recruiting for the Program Support Committee Chair role.
