FIRST Indiana Robotics is excited to announce the appointment of Lisa Porat as the new Chairperson of the Board of Directors. Lisa brings a wealth of experience, having been deeply involved with FIRST for over a decade. Her journey began as a parent and mentor, and she continues to serve as a leadership mentor for FRC Team 1741, Red Alert Robotics. Her roles have spanned event volunteering, judging, and hosting numerous events at all levels. Her commitment to the mission of FIRST, her strategic vision, and her extensive nonprofit board experience will undoubtedly drive our organization forward, inspiring students and fostering innovation across Indiana.
“I am honored to accept the position of Chairman of the Board for FIRST Indiana Robotics. I have been a part of FIRST for over ten years as a parent, coach, judge and mentor at all levels. I’ve seen firsthand the impact FIRST has on children’s lives. Our students learn not only technical skills, but also leadership, teamwork, communication, business and problem-solving skills as well. There is always a place for students to engage, feel included and learn life skills on a FIRST team. I am thrilled to help continue to support the mission, vision and values of FIRST Indiana in this new role and help continue to make FIN the signature program for youth in Indiana. Robots build great kids!”
We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Logan Byers, our outgoing Chairman, for his exceptional leadership and dedication. Logan, who has served as a mentor, referee, Head Referee, and board member, has been a pillar of the FIRST community since his high school days with FRC Team 461. His tenure as Chairman was marked by significant advancements and steadfast support for our programs. Logan’s expertise and enthusiasm have left an indelible mark on FIRST Indiana Robotics, and we are immensely grateful for his contributions.
“Thank you for allowing me to serve on the Board for the past 7 ½ years. It’s been an honor and privilege to serve as a board member for this organization. I look forward to volunteering at future FLL, FTC, and FRC events here in the great state of Indiana and seeing FIRST Indiana Robotics continue to grow.”
Join us in welcoming Lisa Porat and thanking Logan Byers for their exceptional service and commitment to inspiring young minds through FIRST!
